The Poor Alchemist

There lived this special alchemist who has mastered the science of transforming an ordinary glass into diamonds. He has practiced this since his childhood and as he grew older he mastered the art so well that he was able to convert any glass into diamonds in a short span of time. After converting he wouldn't keep it for himself but give it away as he wanted to make a rarest diamond the world has ever seen. People loved and respected him for his noble character and his mastery at alchemy.

One day on his way he came across a new type of glass which he has never seen before. The composition of the glass allured him, he took this piece of glass to his workshop and started working on converting it to diamond. He spent sleepless nights working on it. Days passed into months but he was unable to convert it, he felt ashamed of himself and used to work harder, his health deteriorated but he still kept working. One day he finally decides that it is not possible to convert this glass into a diamond and that he should quit. He throws the piece of glass and walks away in search of another glass. That night during his sleep he feels something in his heart and starts running to the place where he threw the piece of glass. He searches the entire place next day but is unable to find it and breaks out saying, "Oh god I'm such a fool, I have been so obsessed in converting glasses to diamonds that I was not able to make out the difference between the two. I had the most exquisite and the rarest of all the diamonds in hand all these days and I was thinking it as a glass of different kind and working hard on it to make it the diamond I always wanted, without realizing that you have given me what I wished to have my entire life."

That alchemist never got that diamond again.

dharti ki bechaini ko badal ke siwa aur kaun samaj sakta hai,
par kabhi kabhi hawa badal ko apney saath uda le jati hai, aur dharthi badal ko bewafa samajney ki bhool kar bhait thi hai

Why did Krishna Leave Brindavan ?

I always had this doubt in mind, why did Krishna leave Brindavan ? After all everyone in Brindavan loved him immensely, infact they couldn't imagine their life without him and Krishna knew this, then why did he take such a harsh decision to leave them behind and move forward in his life. Somewhere this didn't seem right to me because it’s my belief that God doesn't leave people who love him purely and selflessly although he may give you troubles and miseries but he would always be there with you along the way protecting you. This brings me back to my question, Then why did Krishna leave Brindavan ? I believe I have uncovered this mystery today.

Today morning I was reading about Kaliya Mardanam in river Yamuna which I have read many times though but something’s didn't seem right to me this time.
When Krishna plunged into the river to kill Kaliya snake, nobody (friends, villagers, gopikas, etc...) dared to go along with him. They just left him alone to fight the big snake. This is just not it, I understand may be they were scared, but when Kaliya took Krishna under water and when Krishna didn't turn up for a long time even then none of the people could overcome their fear and dared to go in to rescue him. They were just standing on the banks and praying for him. This is not what I would call love, they were fearing about their life and were ready to sacrifice Krishna. This is no selfless love. In love the "I" don't exist, it’s just the other person. I believe Krishna realized it and may be to confirm it, he was waiting under water holding his breath just to see if somebody overwhelmed by his love would dare come in, but none did, not even Radha. This answered my another looming question in my mind, Why didn't Krishna marry Radha, if both of them were deeply in love with each other ? Krishna would have definitely married her, if she had jumped into the river ignoring herself to save Krishna, which she didn't. If you were truly in love with a person you would not let that person face trouble alone, even when you know the opponent is strong, you would still put a fight to protect your beloved.  So Krishna for Radha was just infatuation but not pure love. Most people reading this might not agree as most of us have been trained right from childhood to think Radha and Krishna as ideals, I somehow don't feel it that way anymore.

This episode is what I think (could be others as well) made Krishna take such a harsh decision to move away from them. These people where dependent on him, they missed him, but there was no love involved there, it was just mere attraction. To justify my point, let’s see why he married Rukmini and Sathyabhama and why did he consider Arjuna to be his best friend.

Rukmini wanted to marry Krishna and surrendered herself to him, even if she had to go against her entire family, she did it and Krishna didn't leave her.

Sathyabhama didn't run away when Krishna was knocked unconscious by Narakasura, infact she fought even more bravely, defeated Narakasura and rescued Krishna. This explains every reason why Krishna respected her and listened to all her words.

Arjuna fought against his beloved Bheeshma, Drona and the rest just because Krishna said. No question asked.

I'm not concluding anything here, but leaving it to the readers to think about it and let me know their thoughts on this.

Value

I asked god why you don’t give me things that I value the most. God replied, “anything you value the most, loses its value as soon as you posses it. This is the law of nature I made son and I know how beautiful the things that you wish for are and I don't ever want you to lose value for those things in your life, that’s why I don't give it to you."
I became speechless and I realized, Value things that you already have it in life, for you never know when you lose it and once you lose it god is not going to give it back to you and all you will be left with would be regrets and tears.

Don't Judge Me

Its like this, we both were waiting for our respective trains in a station, your train arrived and you went on your away. My train never came and I'm still waiting. Time has passed and now you are back to the same station and you see me sitting there waiting for my train with the memories of the time spent with you and you tell me that I should move on with the life and you were just a passing cloud, but if you think you'll know that you are missing a small logic there, you moved on because your train arrived and you got to meet different people and had different experiences but I never got an opportunity to get a new life neither did I encounter anyone during this time who would give me a better, pleasant memory. So please don't judge me and pass a verdict that I'm a person who lives in the past and doesn't like to move on with the life.

Proud Citizen

I'm a proud citizen of a republic nation,
where children still die of starvation.
A nation  which has the world's oldest civilization
but still lacks primary education.

A republic nation with the world's second largest population
where votes and jobs are based on caste reservation
A country so rich in cultivation
that it has enough food to feed terrorists in the name of non-violence and toleration.

A nation where you will not be punished for any violation, if you know person of some reputation
A nation where politicians spend time in accusation more than administration
where economy is always under inflation
Yes, I'm a proud citizen of such a great republic nation.

Why do we Yell

A sage asked his disciples, “Why do people yell at people when we are upset?”
The disciples thought for a while, and one said, “We lose our calm and so we yell!”

“But explain to me, why do you yell when the other person is right next to you?” asked the sage. “Isn’t it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you yell at a person when you are angry?” The disciples gave some answers but none satisfied the sage.

Finally, the sage explained.
“When two people are angry at each other, there is a distance which arises between their hearts. To cover that distance they must yell, to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the louder they will have to yell to hear each other through that great distance.” Then the sage asked, “What happens when people are in love? They do not yell at each other but talk softly. Why? Their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small.”

The sage continued, “What happens when their love for the other grows even more? They do not speak, they only whisper. Their hearts come even closer with love. Finally, they need not even whisper... they only look at each other and that is all. That is how close people are when they love each other. The heart is like one.”

Apply it: Next time you get angry, try speaking in a soft voice. Your anger will reduce a lot.
