Planets in the Ninth House

Sun
You may wish to find, understand, live and accept a higher ideal or philosophy. But, then again, you may be one who insists upon scientific proof before anything can be believed. You can be the far-sighted thinker, one of high ideals and tolerance of other people's views or the dogmatic fanatic who just parrots what others have told you. Generally, there is a quest for truth and wisdom and a love of travel, not necessarily physical. You may have an aptitude for foreign languages and a love of foreign culture.

Moon
You are a dreamer and muse often about the higher aspects of life. Since you may not be content with the way your life currently is going, you have the desire to search for fresh fields. This search may take you on many long travels, both physically and mentally. Security may be found in a religious or philosophical ideal. Your philosophy of life is what nurtures you and gives you security. You have a variety of interests, in sports, hobbies and studies. You make a stimulating teacher because of your personal interest in the subjects you teach. They are really a part of you and that comes across to those who listen to you. You may have precognitive dreams. Concerning vocation: the emphasis is placed upon the higher mind, the dimensions of philosophy, public mores, religion, law or sharing the reasoning of the public. Issues regarding foreign travel, relocation, even citizenship change are important dimensions to consider in the quest for work conditions that will bring personal success.

Mercury
You are flexible, with an adaptable mind which has an interest in perhaps intellectual pursuits, law, religion or philosophy. You have many ideas and beliefs with the ability to express them well verbally. You probably enjoy travel and foreign culture and it is particularly educational for you. You have the ability to learn foreign languages or to be a translator. You may be a teacher or be involved in higher learning in some other way. Interest may exist in publishing or advertising.

Venus
You probably have a love of travel and the ability to benefit from these travels. You may move far away from your place of birth. You possess the ability to promote understanding between different cultural or aesthetic groups. Beauty, art and music from foreign cultures appeals to you. You can be fair in legal dealings. There may be love of and attraction to religion or ceremony, philosophy, law or higher learning.

Mars
Your mind is enthusiastic, but restless. You are independent in thought. Your religious zeal must be watched so that it doesn't turn into fanaticism. You have strong opinions and are happy to tell anyone who will listen what they are. You have a strong desire to travel, not necessarily physically, but mentally. You have a liberal, broad, and progressive philosophy about life and do not want anyone else imposing their beliefs on you. There is a possibility of strife with in-laws. You will fight for your convictions. You may need to watch a tendency towards believing you are always right.

Jupiter
You are optimistic, tolerant, broad-minded, considerate and maybe a little bit fanatical. You may be prophetic, having strong intuition, good judgment and vivid dreams. You may be interested in law, religion and philosophies. You have the ability to guide and inspire others as to what the future might bring and to promote your own thoughts, ideas and ideals. You may benefit from travels and dealings with foreigners. Your accomplishments may not be recognized until the latter part of your life. On the negative side you may be quite dogmatic in your beliefs. Some experience a total absence of faith.

Saturn
Your religious and philosophical beliefs are probably quite orthodox and traditional. You take these beliefs very seriously. Your concentration upon deep subjects is probably quite good. You may be intolerant and critical of others and their beliefs. You may question absolutes, God and religion in general. There may be difficulties connected with foreign travel or foreign cultures. Frustrations and delays can occur during long journeys. Take care not to deplete your energy to the point of exhaustion through over-concentration.

Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga

Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga, a.k.a. cancellation of debilitation.

Note: Not all cancellation of debilitation create Raja Yoga. Raja Yogas are created only when certain other conditions are fulfilled along with the following conditions as stated by Dr. BV Raman:

1) Lord of the sign occupied by a debilitated planet, placed in a Kendra (angle) from the Lagna or the Moon.
2) The planet which gets exalted in the sign where a planet is debilitated is in a Kendra from the Lagna or the Moon.
3) The lord of the exaltation sign of the debilitated planet is posited in a Kendra from the Lagna or the Moon.
4) A neecha planet exalted in the Navamsa.
5) A debilitated planet being aspected by another debilitated planet.
6) Lord of the Navamsa occupied by a debilitated planet in a Kendra (angle) or trikona (trine); the ascendant being a movable sign or the lord of the ascendant is in a movable Navamsa.
7) Lord of the Rasi where a planet is debilitated is in a trine from the Lagna or the Moon.
8) The planet that gets exalted in the sign where the planet is debilitated, is in a trine to the lord of the exaltation sign of the debilitated planet.
9) The lords of the debilitation and exaltation signs are in mutual kendras (angles).
10) A debilitated planet, aspected by the lord of the sign, situated in an auspicious house.
11) Lord of the Rasi in which a planet is debilitated or the lord of the planet’s exaltation sign, or the planet who gets exalted there is in a trine from the Lagna or the Moon.

The planet creating the cancellation should not own, be conjunct or aspected by the rulers of, the 3rd, 6th, 8th or 12th houses. Furthermore, the rulers of the houses where the Neecha Bhanga is taking place should be well placed and well aspected. If these requirements are not fulfilled then the Raja Yoga may not be complete, despite the fact that they may fulfill the rules stated by Dr.B.V. Raman.

Gaja - Kesari Yoga

Gaja - Kesari yoga is formed whenever Jupiter is in kendras from the Moon. This yoga assures long life span, high reputation even after death, higher learning, intelligence, passionate and emotional behaviour. Native can address others with wisdom and foresight. Native is able to achieve anything by his/her own velour etc. If Jupiter or the moon or both are functional malefics, the yoga will get modified accordingly and will not confer very good results.

In Indian Vedic astrology, the Moon ascendant has been given equal importance as is given to the ascendant. The reason is that the moon is ruler of mind. It should be taken into consideration that if Jupiter shall conjunct or be in Kendras with the moon or aspect Moon, he shall ward off evils, shall incline the person to religion, learning, righteous conduct etc. Maharshi Parashar is of the view that if Jupiter is in Kendra from the ascendant, it portends similar results. Great Vedic astrologer Maharishi Parashar in his famous work “Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra” has given a sloka on Gaj Kesari Yoga. Should Jupiter be in an angle from the ascendant or from the moon and be conjunct or aspected by a benefic avoiding at the same time debilitation, combustion,an inimical sign, Gaj Kesari yoga is formed.

According to Maharishi Parashar, Kendra position of Jupiter should be seen not only from the moon but also from the ascendant. Another important condition added by Maharishi Parashar is that Jupiter must conjunct or be aspected by a benefic. Aspect of a benefic or conjunction with it shall further strengthen Jupiter. There is no denying the fact that if Jupiter is otherwise strong and not aspected or conjunct by a benefic, he is fully capable of fructifying the yoga. When Jupiter is combust, debilitated or in inimical sign, it is less effective to do good to the native. Other condition which shall be taken into consideration are Jupiter must be a functional benefic for the ascendant. So, Great astrologer Maharishi Parashar has ruled out Gaj Kesari yoga for Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Virgi, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius ascendants. Jupiter must not be in 6th, 8th, 12th houses.

The Moon should be strong, have paksha bala and should not be debilitated in order to cause fructification for yogas caused by Moon. Position of the Moon from the ascendant is also important i.e. the Moon should not be in 6,8,12 houses from the ascendant.

It should also be taken into consideration that if Jupiter is in an angle from the ascendant or from the Moon in own sign or exaltation, the combination shall be called by the name of Hamsa yoga (One of the Panch Mahapurusha Yoga).

Comparision

Comparing yourself to other people is one of the most common things we do. It is ingrained in our natural behavior and we usually can’t help doing it. Human beings are social creatures and comparing yourself to other fellow humans helps to know where one stands in society’s hierarchy.

Remember when you were in school? Especially from elementary to up until high school, it was pretty much about popularity and appearance. Later on you might have been comparing your university to the other universities your fellow students attended, and after graduating it is all about how much money you make, what kind of material possessions you own, how good looking your partner is, how many friends you have and so on. The list is endless.

It is obvious that there is a set of rules that people have agreed to play on, even though they are not visible. As a marketing major from a university, I have realized quite well how companies try to initiate these rules and different kinds of needs by advertising and the media – for companies selling things that help people to feel that they are one step higher in the social hierarchy it is very profitable!

Have you ever felt the urge to buy new brand clothes to make yourself feel good? How about a new cool apartment or a new premium car? Have you ever felt even just a little bit jealous of someone who has those things? Haven’t you thought sometimes that you would be happier if you just got those things, and suddenly the other gender would be interested in you as well, thus solving your problems?

At least I have had these thoughts many times during my life, and I am still not completely unaffected about those ideas that advertisers and society tries to sell us, but now I am more aware of the fact that happiness does not follow material possessions.

The majority of people seems to be following these rules, and because humans are social creatures, it creates an enormous pressure for most people to play by these rules and rank themselves according to the system that almost everyone participates.

When you have realized that you don’t really have to play by these rules, one question still remains: How to stop comparing yourself to others when all the other people seem to think about the hierarchy all the time?

Gain freedom by letting go of seeking approval

The need for approval is deeply rooted in our personalities, and it seems like the more self-confident one is, the less approval one needs. Paradoxically, one of the best things we can do in order to raise our self-esteem is to let go of the approval-seeking habits.

One good practical solution is to make drastic changes in your life. If everyone else that have graduated from the same university as you have has a huge mortgage, expensive car, and a boring job, try what happens if you do everything completely differently. After you have traveled around the world twice with your backpack or climbed to the top of Mount Everest while your old classmates have watched the sunshine through the office windows, you will be extremely surprised about the outcome.

After you stop caring about other people’s approval, you will discover many things, such as the fact that many people actually don’t care too much about how you spend your life, and most interestingly, many people respect you now ten time as much as they did before, just because you were able to do something that most people would like to do, but can’t because of their fears and social conditioning. Probably a few of your fellow classmates will even follow your example and do some drastic changes in their lives, too.

Don’t be fooled by the looks

Most people don’t realize that they are usually comparing themselves with false data when it comes to the material possessions, and they let the false comparison dictate their future actions accordingly.

One of the easiest examples is the financial hierarchy that most people seem to follow. Most of us have accepted the idea that it is necessary to look financially successful in order to be able to be near the top of the social hierarchy, and often insecure people need approval so much that they are even willing to buy things that they can’t afford, thus getting into severe debt by buying a too expensive car or an apartment.

After this first guy puts himself into deep debt and starts to look well off, you can be assured that his neighbors and friends suddenly start to feel insecure and try to outdo him by trying to look more financially successful, and this is where the never ending loop begins.

The whole successful image of the first guy was based on a false front to begin with, but now there are many people trying desperately to look better, not realizing that if one keeps thinking about the hierarchy, there will always be someone that is above you, so it is impossible to win that game. My question then is: why bother even attending?

Find your passion, follow your dreams, and you will never compare yourself to others anymore

Every second you spend focusing on what other people are doing, you are missing an opportunity to pay attention to your own journey in life. When you realize that you have a unique life that can end tomorrow, you can finally start focusing only on what YOU want and what makes you happy. It takes a lot of courage to start living the life exactly how you feel like living deep down inside your heart, but after you have made the necessary steps, the pure joy inside you will make you suddenly forget all the comparisons that used to make you feel worse.

If you must compare yourself to something, compare yourself to yourself in terms of your own journey. Life is not a competition, but a journey – a journey to find happiness, to become good at something, to learn, or to create. All that matters is what you want to do with your life and where you want to go. A good way to start is to read the article about finding your life purpose in no time. When you focus only on following passionately your dreams without thinking about your rank in comparison to others, you will find true happiness that is long-lasting. Even if you die tomorrow, you will die smile on your face – that is what happens when you live every day according to your passions and following your dreams.
